The Family Room

We haven’t lived in this house very long, but I’m already looking at some ceiling light fixtures. That is the one room in the house where there are NO lights! I hate it. We have lamps in the room, but it just doesn’t do it for me. Plus, there is only one outlet connected to the light switch, so the other three lamps we have to actually turn on and off manually. That can be a pain!

I would love track lighting fixtures because we have beams that cross the ceiling and we could hide the tracks. It’s a long and narrow room so I think there would be a few different light fixtures that would work. I love looking at lights. I think they are so interesting, with so many different kinds of looks. But I have to say…I hate dark rooms almost as much as I hate turning on individual lamps around a dark room!

The other lighting fixture I have to change is the one up in my son’s room.  Every other bedroom in the house has a ceiling fan except his, and with the lack of air conditioning making it upstairs his room can get toasty!  I hear it will be a lot easier to swap out a light fixture that already exists than it will be to create a new light fixture in the family room…but no matter what…both will be changed!!
