Fun Craft For Today!!

The little item I made today is a little more like Paper Mache meets Powder Sugar! I blew up little water balloons, tied it to a string and piped royal icing in fun swirls and designs around the entire balloon. I then hung it from the light fixture in the dining room to dry. After several hours, I took it down and with a Q-tip I gently pushed the balloon away from the sugar in all of the little holes. Once it had been loosened I cut the top off of the balloon, and VOILA!! A royal icing, filigree Easter egg.
(please do not notice my poor quality photography!! I was not blessed with that talent. I only have what my cheapo digital camera can give you…SORRY!)

This is amazing! You are so creative.
(My daughter has to make a volcano for social studies class. We’re going to be making an Exploding Volcano Cake. We’re so excited. It won’t be as good as yours though!)

That is just awesome! My daughter who is 11 is very interested in cake decorating (I even got her some fun shape baking pans and the Betty Crocker Decorting ket for xmas) - she will love your blog.
Being on a diet myself, I can only look - but not taste!
